This is a great tool for elementary math teachers. It allows the students to input data they have collected on any particular topic and then it creates different graphs based on their data.

Digital Storytelling Resources:

Digistories is a site hosted by Bernajean Porter, a pioneer and advocate of digital storytelling. It lists tools to use to create digital stories, hosts a storykeepers' gallery, and explains the philosophy behind the use of digital storytelling. The creator holds a multiday workshop on the art of digital storytelling each year and information can be found on the site.

This blog was created by a technology teacher, Tom, who is passionate about digital storytelling, as well as all types of technology integrated within the classroom. He provides links and examples to many of his ideas, which allow you to explore as well. It is great to read about his successes, failures, and frustrations - that keeps the blog refreshing and real.

Jakesonline.org - This website tells teachers how to make digital story telling work in their classroom. It provides links to articles and resources about the process of digital storytelling. There is also a link to images that can be used by students for the digital stories. For those of us who need help getting started, he provides many examples as well as the compenents that should be in a digital story. This site is full of resources and highly recommended!

Discovery Network - Story Telling Resources - Broken link :-(

Jakesonline for Flickr images - Jakes on line site gives more information aout Flickr and the images that can be browsed and loaded. ThThis really give a thurough understadning of how to expand those searches for information and how to narrow or expand given searches.

Jakesonline using Flickr for digital storytelling - this is an informational site that gives information for digital storytelling using Flickr. Hi ladies!  I added the digital storytelling section on the bottom of the page.  Remember to add some resources to the Teachers Toolkit on the class page, not just on ours - I already started us off by adding three of them.  Hope all is well!                     -Catherine

Hi group one! If you guys can add

                                                     some stuff to our toolbox

                                                     that would be great!  Also,

how are you all doing? Keep in touch!

Hi Jessica and the rest of Group 1!  I will be adding stuff, don't worry.  I had to prepare for my Thursday

class so am just getting back to doing these assignments.  Also, I have been thinking...do you think the newsletter needs to be more than 1 page?  I have been thinking all along that it would only be 1 page, but now I think it should be more than that, just as newsletters usually are, right?  We probably need to break things down then...  -Catherine

Okay, so I have been working for an hour and added the links and some descriptions; however, I can't get it to look good.  I tried putting it in a table but the table wouldn't cooperate.  If you can make  the toolbox look good, please do so!!!         - Catherine
