Many teachers in schools today grew up with and learned to use Web 1.0 tools and still keep traditional, teacher-centered classrooms. The world IS different now!
Today's educational thinking and instructional design are moving toward a Web 2.0 - 3.0 educational environment, where teachers and students are equal learners; partners in the collaborative process of inquiry and connectedness.
This wiki is designed to help me collaborate with colleagues on both, professor and teacher candidate levels to find better ways of teaching in order to enhance students learning and teachers teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners of the 21st century.
A note to my students:
Make yourself available, open-minded and engaged in your learning to teach into the Future.
Remember:
Teachers are the key to the future, the glue of civilization, and have the capacity to become catalysts for positive change.
Do not be afraid of experimenting, exploring the new tools;
they will make you powerful and effective in teaching the students of the 21st Century!
Nice openning to the class, what I take from the video is that eventhough students can use technology the learning process still involves literacy, interaction, prodecural knowledge and a Acedemic Disposition.
Computer use is not a "skill" for today's student. They are almost natural. The skills WE ALL need to stress are advanced skills of literacy, communication, thinking, collaboration, and evauation to start the process all over again.
